Community Projects
This is work based within a particular geographic area or with a particular community group or organisation.
This could be anything from a big complex festival through to a one off workshop. We have organised processions, programmed festivals, undertaken inter-generational history projects, run a community play and helped develop public art: sculptures, murals, mosaics etc.
Young People
Arts projects with young people from 0-21.
We work in schools and with the youth service. We’ve done projects in youth clubs, run after school activities and worked in museums, parks and open spaces. We run a drama group at the Century Theatre, Snibston Discovery Park. Mantle is developing an innovative strand of street theatre work as part of the Leicestershire ‘Find Your Talent’ project.
Arts in Health
Arts work focussed on particular health agendas, e.g. fitness, improved wellbeing.
We run projects for disabled and learning disabled groups and we deliver health related arts projects with schools and drop in centres.
Artist Training
Mantle is committed to developing and advising artists interested in developing participatory practice. We have delivered structured training programmes for artists wishing to work in schools and we offer artist placements in existing projects for those wishing to learn and develop their practice. Contact us to discuss your specific needs for formal or informal training, advice and CPD.
