Into The Forest Exhibition 3rd November 2009
Mantle Arts' Into The Forest project culminated in an exhibition at Snibston Discovery Park last month. Local adults exhibited poetry, art work and photography, inspired by sites of The National Forest. The project was designed to boost emotional health and well-being through creative expression. It has been supported by the National Forest company and delivered in partnership with West Leicestershire MIND and Leicestershire NHS Partnership Trust.
Participants had worked with photographer Monica Fernandez, artist Jemma Bagley and poet Lydia Towsey, to create paintings, collage, sketches, prints, photos and poetry. They were encouraged to take part in organised walks as part of the project, to boost physical health and inspire their work. The exhibition has been very well received and features on BBC Leicester.
