The Devil and the Three Golden Hairs
Blue Box Youth Theatre are staging a spectacular performance at Snibston Country Park, on Friday 17th July & Saturday 18th July 2009 at 8pm. The Devil & the 3 Golden Hairs has been devised by the group of thirteen young people, working with a Director from Babbling Vagabonds Theatre and a professional designer. It is part of Mantle Arts’ programme of street theatre and outdoor performances, which included the Coalville Comes Alive Festival in May 09. The project has been funded by Find Your Talent.
“A prophecy says that a poor young man will marry the King’s daughter and so he makes a powerful enemy of the King. To save himself he must travel to Hell to steal three golden hairs from the head of the Devil himself. If he succeeds he marries the King’s daughter. If he fails, he wakes the Devil!”
The Devil & the 3 Golden Hairs will take place in the beautiful woodland of the Grange Nature Reserve, part of Snibston Country Park, adjacent to Snibston Discovery Museum, Ashby Road Coalville.
Tickets to see the performance are free, but must be booked in advance to ensure a place. To reserve a place, call Mantle Arts on 01530 830811, email us on info@mantlearts.org.uk, or enquire at the front desk of Snibston Discovery Museum.
Please note that the audience will follow the action through the woods, standing throughout. Due to the nature of the location it may not be totally accessible for wheelchair users.
