Coalville Writes 8 – 10 March

Coalville Writes is set to be a page-turner, a celebration of writers and writing, poetry and prose and all things word related, taking place in and around Coalville. Look out for gothic tales and book launches, rhymes from our very own wandering minstrel, travel writing on the high seas from Emma Bamford, workshops, talks, readings – and even a pop up book fair. Oh, and a whale.

Joanne Harris (Chocolat, A Pocketful of Crows) will be talking about her work. Joanne is a passionate advocate of storytelling in a variety of different media, from her Twitter #storytime tales to film, theatre, opera and choral work. Here, with the help of the Storytime Band, she brings you a musical storytelling show, combining original music, songs and stories as part of an exploration of different forms of narrative. Basically, Jackanory, with drums.

Venues in and around Coalville.
Supported by Arts Council England, NW Leicestershire District Council and the National Forest.
